AzonPress 2.2.5: Smarter Click Tracking, Cloaked URL Analytics & More
Hello, AzonPress fans!
We’re back with AzonPress 2.2.5, a focused update that closes the gaps in click analytics and squashes several bugs affecting Gutenberg blocks, product templates, and the Creators API.
What’s New
- Expanded click tracking coverage
- Standalone analytics for cloaked URL visits
- Several targeted bug fixes
Add: Click Tracking for Gutenberg Block Links
AzonPress Gutenberg block links are now fully tracked in the click analytics system. Previously, clicks from the block editor’s product output were not recorded; this update brings Gutenberg blocks to full parity with shortcode-rendered products.
What this means for you:
- All affiliate clicks, regardless of how the product is embedded (shortcode or block), appear in your analytics dashboard.
- No extra configuration needed — tracking activates automatically for existing blocks.
Add: Standalone Cloaked URL Visit Tracking
Visits to /azp/<slug> Cloaked URLs are now independently tracked with full click analytics and geo data, even when the visit doesn’t originate from a shortcode or block-rendered product on your page.
What this means for you:
- Direct cloaked URL visits (via shared links, email campaigns, or external sources) are recorded in your analytics.
- Geo coordinates are captured server-side at redirect time, giving you accurate location data without relying on frontend JavaScript.
Fix: Creators API Token Request Format
The token request sent to the Creators API was using an incorrect format, causing authentication to fail for stores configured with Creators API credentials. This is now corrected.
What this means for you:
- Creators API-backed stores authenticate and fetch product data reliably again.
Fix: Click Tracking for All Product Link Types
Click tracking was not firing correctly for certain product link types (e.g., image links, title links, and custom button variants). This update ensures every tracked link type records correctly across all templates.
Fix: Custom Product Template Title Validation Before Save
Saving a custom product template without a title could result in a blank or broken entry in the template list. Validation now runs before the save, surfacing a clear error and preventing incomplete templates from being stored.
Fix: Grid Template Not Rendering in \ Shortcode
The grid template was silently failing to render when used via the shortcode, showing a blank output instead. The dispatch path is corrected, and the grid layout renders as expected.
Update Now
We recommend updating to 2.2.5 immediately; the analytics and Creators API fixes in particular affect live data collection and product fetching.
